Chris is also the co-founder of The EmpathyWorks Project (EWP) which is dedicated to delivering training in emotional intelligence and support for emotional well-being through digital technologies to broad segments of society. Within EWP, Chris has developed the “EmQ” (empathy quotient) a non-self-reporting instrument designed to measure an individual’s empathic ability, as well as the “Empathy Roadmap to the WE Space” an easy to grasp online empathy-skills training program. His approach to psychotherapy follows the precepts of “Relational Self Psychology,” and “Intersubjective Systems Theory,” which are contemporary schools in psychoanalytic thought. A forward thinker, he is a regular participant in psychoanalytic conferences as a presenter and group facilitator. Prior to becoming a therapist, Chris had a successful twenty-year business career in the insurance and financial services industry, excelling in team building and communications.
Cathy Weitz, LCSW-R
Senior Partner, Therapist
Cathy has been working as a psychotherapist for over 30 years and has successfully helped many people work through extremely complex and painful issues. Because of her extensive experience, she has the ability to identify problems quickly and help you better understand how to move through core difficulties that will lead to lasting change. When you work together you will carefully address the specific problems that are preventing you from leading a better life.
Change can take time and focus, and in a safe and supportive setting, change is possible. Therapy is an opportunity to look carefully at you as an individual with unique needs and goals. You will uncover solutions that will allow you to feel more fulfilled in your daily life and change any negative patterns that might be holding you back.
Whether you are looking for solutions to a specific problem or are trying to look for deeper meaning and fulfillment in your life, Cathy would like to help you.
Rebecca Kalb, MSSA, LMSW
Administrative Director, Staff Therapist
She embodies warmth, genuine curiosity, and a sense of humor which she combines to create a safe and nurturing space. You will be supported while exploring your personal history and its impact on your present-day self. Establishing a trusting therapeutic relationship is crucial, and Rebecca is deeply committed to ensuring you feel seen, heard, and understood. This connection is vital for a positive therapy experience and fosters that essential “good fit” feeling between you and your therapist.
Life often finds us tethered to outdated beliefs and habits that may have served us well in the past but now hinder our development. With Rebecca, therapy will be a safe haven where you are invited to unravel the roots of these beliefs and work collaboratively towards embracing change, paving the way to a more fulfilling life.
Rebecca’s expertise stems from her undergraduate degree in psychology and a master’s level social work education at the School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University. Additionally, she has honed her skills through specialized training in couples therapy, group therapy, self-psychology, trauma studies, non-violent communication, and mindfulness-based stress reduction. Prior to her return to work in the field of clinical social work, Rebecca had three decades of experience running her own business in New York City.
Anya Miretsky, LMSW
Staff Therapist
She earned a BA in Neuroscience from Amherst College and a Master of Social Work from Yeshiva University.
Her wealth of life experience between college and graduate school informs her practice of psychotherapy, bringing insight to lifecycle struggles such as finding oneself through a meaningful career, finding one’s partner, parenting, caring for aging family members, as well as grief and loss. She is bicultural, bilingual and interested in exploring the experience of having multiple identities.
Anya believes that each one of us has the unique answers to move forward with our lives and that sometimes the smallest steps open up possibilities that we could not have imagined. She sincerely hopes to support your journey in gaining insight into patterns that are no longer useful and that when acknowledged allow for change.
Together with Anya you will work to create a safe therapeutic space that allows for honesty and leads to self-acceptance. She has worked with people with depression, anxiety, and trauma and has seen how when given support people are able to thrive not only despite their unique challenges but because of them. She brings an interest in psychodynamic, interpersonal, and strength-based approaches to therapy and also incorporates cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques to explore automatic thoughts and core beliefs that may be holding you back. She is also experienced in Motivational Interviewing, a set of tools to help people explore their values and motivation for change as well as the roadblocks that hold them back.
In her spare time, Anya enjoys being a visual artist, gardener, and swimmer, all of which allow her to center herself and focus on the beauty of the world around her. She is profoundly optimistic about people, and fascinated by each person’s unique path towards fulfillment and meaning.
Anya offers telehealth and limited in-person sessions and she looks forward to meeting and working with you.
